Washington Township provides services in accordance with Indiana Code 36-6: Government of Townships. The Township is broken up into Departments, all reporting to the Trustee.

While the Trustee and Township Board members are elected by the public, the balance of Township staff are hired by the Trustee, and employed directly by the Township.
